Sales Designer

Pier1 Bathrooms is an award-winning, design-led bathroom showroom based in Hove, specialising in high-end, thoughtfully designed spaces. As KBB Bathroom Retailer of the Year 2024, we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional client experience, underpinned by strong design expertise, clear communication, and a collaborative team culture.
We create stunning bathroom spaces that balance aesthetics, functionality, and longevity, working with a diverse client base—from private homeowners to developers and designers.
While we offer supply-only, our speciality lies in our end-to-end design service. We guide clients from initial inspiration through to fully resolved CAD designs, carefully specified products, and installation-ready technical packs—simplifying what can often be a complex process.

Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Performance (Primary Focus)
- Take ownership of meeting and exceeding personal sales targets and gross profit delivery
- Maximise average order value and margin through considered product specification and upselling
- Confidently close sales and manage client payments
- Maintain excellent product knowledge across all ranges, including technical specifications, pricing, and suitability for different briefs and budgets
- Proactively generate new business through showroom engagement and effective follow-up of all enquiries and online leads
2. Client Experience & Project Delivery
- Lead client consultations in-showroom and on-site, developing clear, detailed briefs and design direction
- Provide expert guidance and proactively support clients from initial contact through to project sign-off
- Ensure smooth handover of all project information to the Operations Manager and installers to support delivery to agreed timelines
- Maintain consistent, proactive communication so clients are always informed and never chasing updates
- Ensure all sign-offs are completed in line with company processes
- Identify and escalate project risks early to protect margin and avoid unnecessary delays
3. Design & Technical Execution
- Conduct site surveys, take accurate measurements, and assess all technical requirements
- Produce high-quality, design-led CAD schemes aligned with the Pier1 design process
- Ensure all technical specifications and installation packs are accurate, detailed, and completed ahead of installation
- Ensure all DocuSign approvals are completed in line with company processes
- Proactively identify opportunities for 5★ reviews and professional photography
4. Communication & Team Contribution
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, suppliers, installers, and the wider team
- Provide clear updates on sales leads, project progress, and risks in team meetings
- Keep the Operations Manager and wider team informed of key project developments
- Take ownership of project issues and work collaboratively with the Showroom Manager and Director to resolve them efficiently
5. Standards & Showroom Processes
- Maintain the showroom to a premium standard, reflecting the Pier1 brand
- Ensure all client interactions and outputs meet a consistently high level of professionalism
- Maintain up-to-date product and supplier knowledge through ongoing engagement, training, and supplier visits
- Stay informed on design trends and new product developments
- Accurately log holiday and leave through People Cloud with appropriate notice
- Ensure clear project handovers and continuity during periods of leave
IT Systems
- True Blue – for generating quotations and invoices
- Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- CAD design software – Virtual Worlds

Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (some local driving required)
Working Conditions
- Full-time (part-time considered)
- 5 days per week, 9:00am–5:00pm
- Saturday working (10:00am–4:00pm) on a rota basis, with a day off in lieu during the week
